We finally got a new camera!!! Hooray! (I have been wanting one for about 41/2 years now. . . ) The Nikon P80 is amazing! With an 18x optical zoom, you can get some really candid shots! These are from the park!

Tractor Fun

So...haven't blogged in awhile. Funny thing, that's entirely due to the fact that I didn't know there was a simple way to rotate my pictures so you wouldn't have to view them all sideways! Isn't it funny how the simple things tend to prevent us from doing anything at all? Anyway, here are a few random pictures:
1. Sophie dressed up (If you didn't guess--that's her "umbrella", sunglasses, her winter robe with her bunny tucked inside!) And, when our neighbor comes to plow our garden for us, Gavin thinks it's the greatest thing ever! Both of these were several months ago!

Economic Stimulus

So, I have to admit I was excited to receive "free" moula from the government. Though, with the price of gas, I doubt it will even cover my trip to the store to go shopping... In the nearly three years we have lived in this house, I have spent most of my time trying to remodel and decorate my house. However, with most of the money landing in the remodeling pool, we were still stuck with furniture I have never liked. Picture this--maroon plaid couch with blue and yellow floral curtains (When we moved in I refused to decorate around the couch since I was certain we would be getting rid of it very shortly!)
We had sort of planned to blow our entire econ stimulus $$$ on a really grand couch, but I happened to find a lovely couch that...stand back...actually matches my family room...for just $299! Of course, we took it home the next day! As soon as I get my new curtains up and the throw pillows made, I will post a picture! (I guess that means we may not stimulate the economy quite as much as we had planned...or perhaps we'll just get a LOT more stuff! On the list--a new computer, a computer desk, material to recover our other couch (or a new one if I can find a screaming deal), etc., etc., etc.)

My Natural Stress-Test

Does anyone else have a reliable physical indicator of how they're doing? Mine is my fingernails. Strange, I know. But, if I'm stressed, they are non-existent. If life is really good, they will be medium-long and given at least a clear coat of polish. If life is fantastic, they will be painted in a perfect (well, as perfect as you can get when you're doing it yourself) french manicure, and my toenails will be dark red or pink. Now, occasionally I do get bored and simply pick apart my fingernails. However, this is still the best indicator of stress in my life! So if you're ever calling to check up on me, you can simply ask, "What do your fingernails look like today?" :)

Bonfire Party!

At the end of January, we decided to have a bonfire in our backyard to reward our munchkins for getting their "happy voice" stickers. We built a snow platform where our igloo had been, lit a roaring fire, and roasted hot dogs and marshmellows! The kids thought it was great! And, it was a fun family activity!
