Vacation Part 1

We recently took a vacation over Spring Break... actually, Mommy misread the calendar... so technically we missed school!  Ha!  The munchkins thought is was the best mistake ever!  Here we are hiking a truly GORGEOUS hike!  We just missed the storm you see in the background!

Just Hanging Out

I found these random pictures on the camera and thought they were worth posting!

The Unexpected

Ellie recently celebrated her birthday.  And, while she loved every minute of it... and she had been blowing pinwheels all day... when it came time to blow her candles out, instead of blowing from far away, she put her mouth RIGHT ON the flame, dipped her lip in the wax, and jumped back in surprise and horror.  Not only did the wax burn her lip and leave a terrible blister, she also managed to singe her eyelashes and eyebrow!  It was awful.  And we got it all on video.  (If she's not still traumatized when she's ten or so, I'm sure it will be funny.)  I didn't get many really great pictures of her lip--we were trying not to overemphasize how truly traumatic it was--but this will give you the idea.

Ah, simplicity...

Sometimes, the simplest lunch is the best lunch for kids.  And, a healthy range of colors doesn't hurt either in making it appealing!
(Yes, the milk is green.  An unfortunate leftover from a sneaky St. Patrick's Day leprechaun who happened to find a freshly opened gallon in the fridge!)

Once the baby, ALWAYS the baby...

James came running into the living room, "Mommy!  Mommy!  Come and see... Ellie is in the crib!"  What crib?  The DOLL crib?  She can't possibly fit...without breaking it.  This is what I saw:
All tucked in by big brother... he even sang her a lullaby.

Waaa!  Waaa!

It's amazing it didn't collapse!

Future Racers

For Christmas, Sam got two passes to a local racetrack.  He was kind enough to invite his sister, rather than taking a friend.  This is the before picture:
And this is after Sam kindly cut his sister off and crashed them both into the metal barrier.  Doesn't he look sorry?  Ha ha.  (Annie was raising her hand to get help so they wouldn't be stuck there the entire rest of their ride.)
